The following data were recorded for each food item per serving: | Food item | Mass (g) | Carbohydrate (%) | Protein (%) | Fat (%) | |-----------|----------|------------------|-------------|---------| | Rice | 120 | 80 | 8 | 2 | | Beans | 80 | 60 | 20 | 2 | | Fried plantain | 50 | 70 | 2 | 8 | Use the conversion factors: 4 kcal per gram of carbohydrate, 4 kcal per gram of protein and 9 kcal per gram of fat. Answer the following:

Determine the total caloric content of the meal per serving and compare it with the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of 2500 kcal for an adolescent. State whether the meal meets, exceeds or falls short of the RDA and by how many kilocalories.
( c )
If the meal is to be adjusted to meet exactly the RDA without changing the total mass of the meal, suggest the percentage change required for the component that contributes the highest excess calories. Show your calculation.
( d )
Identify two possible sources of experimental error in the determination of the macronutrient percentages and suggest a method to minimise each error.
