Gce Model Questions Vol1 2018 Physics Question 40
Practice objective / multiple choice question 40 from the 2018 Gce Model Questions Vol1 Physics examination.
A single circular loop of radius \(0.10\ \text{m}\) and resistance \(0.5\ \Omega\) is placed in a uniform magnetic field that is increasing at a constant rate of \(0.02\ \text{T s}^{-1}\), directed perpendicular to the plane of the loop. (a) Determine the magnitude of the induced emf in the loop. (b) If the loop is connected to an external resistor of \(2.0\ \Omega\), calculate the power dissipated in the external resistor. (c) The loop is then pulled out of the magnetic field so that the magnetic flux through it decreases to zero in \(0.50\ \text{s}\). Assuming the magnetic field strength at the start of the extraction is \(0.05\ \text{T}\) and remains constant during the motion, find the average induced emf during this extraction. (d) Calculate the total charge that passes through the external resistor during the extraction.
